Qualification Purpose:
The purpose of this qualification is to prepare a learner to operate as a Millwright.
- A Millwright installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs stationary industrial machinery in production and manufacturing environments. A qualified learner will be able to:
- Fit, adjust, and maintain industrial machinery.
- Diagnose, find, and repair faults in industrial machinery.
- Install, test and commission industrial machinery.
Entry Level Requirements:
NQF Level 1 (Grade 9) qualification with Mathematics
Skills Obtained:
- Fit, adjust, and maintain industrial machinery.
- Diagnose, find, and repair faults in industrial machinery.
- Install, test and commission industrial machinery.

- Entrepreneur / Contractor
- As a Millwright in any of the industries listed

Approximate Trade Duration:
Off the job practical training
Phase 1 : Duration – 25 Weeks
Phase 2 – Duration – 24 Weeks
Phase 3 – Duration – 16 Weeks
Phase 4 – Duration – 4 Weeks (Revision and Trade Test)
Workplace (on the job) experience
12 to 18 months
