You may initiate the course on any Monday, subject to the availability of workshops.
This 5-day course will refresh the artisan’s knowledge and skill with regard to port markings and their functions, adjustment of the pressures for the system. And the adjustment of the brakes on the axels.
Diesel Mechanic, Motor Mechanic, and Tractor Mechanic
Qualified Mechanic.
The participant will be able to:
- State the functions of all the valves and related equipment in the brake system.
- Indicate the flow of air on a schematic diagram of the brake system when.
- The foot brake pedal is depressed, and the front brake boosters come into operation.
- The foot brake pedal is depressed, and the rear brake boosters come into operation.
- The hand brake is applied.
- Test and adjust the load sensing valve.
Hydraulic Brake System

This 5-day course will refresh the artisan’s knowledge and skill with regard to, hydraulic brake adjustment, repairs to the brake system and the identification of faults and their repairs.
Diesel Mechanic, Motor Mechanic and Tractor Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
Qualified Mechanic.
The participant will be able to:
- Replace the brake shoes and brake pads on a front and rear wheel brake assembly.
- Overhaul the hydraulic system.
- Adjust the brakes, hand brake and the master cylinder.
- All safety procedures must be adhered to identify faults and sate their causes.
Service a Petrol or Light Diesel Vehicle

This is a 5-day short course, and it is intended to place a narrow focus on the performance required to effectively service a vehicle.
Anyone who wants to service their own vehicle engine.
No Requirement.
The participant will be able to:
- Inspect and test the battery.
- Inspect and test the cooling system.
- Drain and refill the crankcase with new oil.
- Replace the fuel, oil, and air filters.
Transportation Electrician Refresher

The ATI Auto Electrician learning opportunity is a 5-day short course, and it is intended to place a narrow focus on the performance of the typical tasks which the Transportation Electrician will carry out during his daily routine working on vehicles in a Workshop. At the end of the course the participants will be able to perform the tasks expected of a Transportation Electrician.

- Maintain a storage Battery.
- Maintenance on Auto-electrical system

Wheel Alignment Refresher

- Identify the different types of steering units.
- Adjust and centralise the steering.
- Adjust the front wheel alignment.
- Complete a Condition Report on the steering unit.
- Do wheel bearing pre-load.
